Gangnam District, Seoul (Mayor Cho Seong-myung) announced on August 5 that it achieved $4.25 million in export consultations at the '2024 Cosmoprof North America' held from July 23 to 25.

This event is the largest B2B (business-to-business) beauty trade show in North America. This year’s 21st edition featured over 1,100 companies from around the world showcasing a variety of beauty products, including skincare, makeup, and haircare.

Gangnam District operated a promotional booth with six companies: MFLAG Co., Ltd., Audin Futures Co., Ltd., L.E.A.P. Co., Ltd., Wish Company Co., Ltd., G-Nic, and Cubist Co., Ltd. Through 106 consultations, they achieved a total consultation result of $4.25 million.

Last year, Gangnam District's cosmetics export amounted to approximately 840 billion won, making it the third largest export category. To support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in entering overseas markets, the district provides support for booth rental and related costs for companies participating in international beauty trade shows. Previous exhibitions, such as Cosmoprof Bologna and the Shanghai Beauty Expo, saw 18 companies participating and achieving a total consultation result of $15.14 million.

Mayor Cho Seong-myung stated, "The cosmetics industry plays a crucial role in job creation and value-added growth. We will actively support the overseas market expansion of SMEs to foster their growth and job creation."
